"I watched her die in front of me as I held her hand." These powerful words from Macey reveal the grief behind her latest film. After the devastating loss of her school friend to breast cancer, Macey has channeled her sorrow into a film that features some life's biggest moments – with a surprising twist: it's a comedy. Macey explains her unconventional approach: "Even in the darkest times – as Jayne was dying of breast cancer – it was jokes and humor that kept us breathing." This way of dealing with dark moments is at the heart of the film, "Moving," which follows five households dealing with pivotal juntions in life. Delving into moments of grief, heartbreak, loneliness, and birth as the characters move home. The idea for the film came while Macey dealt with her friend's belongings after her death. "Moving home brings us face to face with our possessions – it’s only those that hold memories that seem precious ," Macey reflects this, after discovering a message in a tiny box . “Jayne had left it there to be discovered- I could so easily of missed it, it was magical.” "Moving" features a cast of local actors and prominently showcases the town of Weston-super-Mare, where it is set. “The film has helped me deal with my grief and I hope I’ve done her memory justice as her final words were ‘don’t fxxk it up. ‘“ Moving is being shown at Plaza,till the end of November.
