A novella about grief, anxiety and the mind
Sarah wrote and self-published Hypochondria, a novella exploring grief, anxiety and the fragility of the human mind, drawn from her own experiences.

Our student Sarah just released her self-published novella Hypochondria - a haunting story exploring grief, anxiety, and the fragility of the human mind.
Hypochondria followsEmma, a young woman consumed by obsessive fears about her health after the traumatic loss of her mother. As her anxiety spirals, her sense of reality begins to collapse - blurring the lines between body and mind.
Described by Sarah as “a horrific literary fiction piece”, the story draws heavily from her own experiences of grief and chronic illness, written during a long and uncertain diagnosis period.
The novella is available ONLINE FOR FREE at sarahrnew.wordpress.com/hypochondria, with a downloadable PDF version coming in December and hopes for a print release in the future.
Looking ahead, Sarah is already working on her next project - CATFOOD, told from the perspective of a kitten named Pina, who witnesses her human’s life unravel under domestic violence.
🎉 Congratulations to Sarah on this wonderful achievement! We look forward to hearing more from this powerful emerging voice in literary horror.
