Rich
An award-winning debut horror film
“I’m incredibly proud. I couldn’t have thought it possible before this.”
Rich wrote a feature screenplay and then wrote and directed his first short film, ‘Good Dog’. Full of movie momentum, Rich has just finished his 2nd short, ‘Paper Girl’.

When Rich joined Make Happen, he thought he was there to write a feature screenplay. He did that — and then kept going. Not only did he complete his feature script, but he also wrote a short film, Good Dog, and, with encouragement from the Make Happen team, took a leap he hadn’t planned on: he directed it himself.
For someone who had never directed before, the learning curve has been steep — and real."It’s challenging, it’s fun, it’s sometimes stressful," *Rich says. "But I’m incredibly proud. I couldn’t have thought it possible before this."*
Now, with Good Dog finished, Rich’s mission is bigger than just screenings and views. He wants the film to inspire others — especially those holding back from their creative dreams for fear of making mistakes or being judged. His story is proof that it’s never too late to take on something new, messy, exciting — and that it’s never too late for a huge career change.
Rich is serving other creatives by sharing his journey honestly: not just the wins, but the wobbles, the discomfort, and the moments of doubt too. Because in the end, it’s not about avoiding mistakes — it’s about making the leap anyway.
