Michelle Gordon is bringing something playful and powerful into the world, and it starts with a zine.

She’s currently creating Piggy Post, a newspaper-style zine for children who want to be writers. The first issue features indie children’s authors alongside poetry written by children themselves. The bigger vision is to grow it into a space where young writers can share their work, feel inspired, and even create their own zines.

Putting it together has already pushed her outside her comfort zone. Michelle put a call out to indie authors before she had even written the interview questions. Within two days, she had responses ready to go. For someone who doesn’t naturally enjoy asking things of others or managing lots of moving parts, that was a real stretch and a big win.

Alongside this, something else has shifted.

After years of feeling stuck in a kind of mental fog, Michelle is finding her focus again. She’s writing more, editing with clarity, and building momentum. A big part of that has come from stepping away from social media and spending more time in nature, which has had a clear impact on how she thinks and works.

And she’s not slowing down.

Next up is the release of Piggy Post, followed by future issues and multiple books in progress. This includes a reboot of her self-help book, the next in her children’s series, and a sequel to an earlier novel. She is also working on a second haiku collection after challenging herself to create the first in a single day.

“Deadlines always help me take action,” she says. “Especially when someone else is expecting it.”
